Graphic designer, David Meldrum, one of the guest speakers at the Abergavenny Food Festival, will be showing works on paper from 'The Food Illustrator Project', a culinary journey he undertook last year.

Come and enjoy The Art Shop's Festival Fete with Jessie Chorley and Cornelia O'Donovan RCA over the festival weekend 17th-18th September outside our shop. Buy hand printed Kitchen Utencil wrapping papers, thick linen aprons, big recipe scrap-books and textiles for your table. See our events page for more information.

Our Fete continues inside with cupboards, crates, shelves full of familiar and new ceramics. New artists showing this year: Fine thrown porcelain by Hannah James, studio assistant to potter and writer, Edmund de Waal: Handthrown slip-decorated terracotta tableware by Dan Hides: Beautifully crafted thrown stoneware by established maker, Suleyman Saba, a regular exhibitor at Ceramic Art London and 'Collect', London.

Familiar faces include James and Tilla Waters, both taught by Rupert Spira who in turn was taught by Michael Cardew: Exquisite stoneware by Royal College and Kyoto University MA graduate, Kaori Tatebayashi whose ceramic forms are influenced by the Kyoto mountains: Gestural new slipware by Dylan Bowen, a Besson Gallery exhibitor who trained at Camberwell College of Arts alongside his wife Jane, who is also exhibiting new earthenware slipped bowls and jugs.
