Botanical Lampshade Printing Workshop – WITH ‘ADDICTED TO PATTERNS’

Join us for a fun-filled day at the Chapel! Create a unique 20cm diameter Lampshade in a day. 

Get ready to unleash your creativity and design and print your very own lampshade. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that will brighten up any room. Our lampshade making workshop is perfect for a creative treat or chance to meet up with friends and make something beautiful for your home or as a gift!

The course is suitable for all levels of competency and there is no sewing required. In this small group class, Justyna from Addicted to Patterns studio will guide you through each of the steps at a gentle pace, ensuring you have all the time and support needed to create a beautiful 20cm diameter lampshade.

During this workshop you will learn about various textiles and suitable paint quality, you will create an all over design using stencils, block printing and silk screen printing techniques, mixing your bespoke colour palette and assembling the 20cm diameter lampshade. You will print your final design onto linen and cotton mix fabric by Ada & Ina, selection of colours will be available to choose from.

Justyna Medon is a surface designer specialising in custom hand-printed collections of wall hangings, textiles and artefacts. After graduating from London College of Communication in 2010, Justyna’s focus was to share her passion for printmaking and to create illustrative patterns that tell the story. In her wallpaper dedicated research she explores historic prints, pigments and embossing technique. Justyna is intrested in eco- substrates, natural pigments and explores green solutions in printmaking. She is passionate educator & researcher based in Wales, currently training in the field of wallpaper conservation.
