Alexis completed a Printmaking degree in Cardiff in 2003. Soon after she came here on a residency and produced the incredibly popular series of lino block prints of Abergavenny. Alexis works with poets, writers and publishers. Her inspiration - old matchbox covers, record sleeves, tea boxes, postcards, explorers, the circus and films. Recently she was selected for a commission by the V&A Museum to design and make a ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ which has been cast in bronze.

Sara’s exploration into ceramics, colour theory and spatial perception began with a MA at Cardiff in 2003, with ideas developing further through her PhD study in 2006. Sara looks at the ways in which spaces within landscape appear altered depending on the ever-changing colours of season, weather, time and farming. Bowls act as a canvas for paintings, using illusory spatial colour phenomena to suggest specific landscape scenes.

Barry graduated in Ceramics at Harrow, University of Westminster. For a year he was an assistant in Edmund de Waal’s studio. He produces simple, thrown forms with a painterly surface. Gestural, intuitive mark-making developed from his drawing and painting, evoking the colours and textures of weather, sky and land. Surfaces are created in layers using thin washes, wiping back, building up, refiring to create rich colours.
