Flowers & Foliage
Marianne’s drawing workshop will explore the beauty of flowers and foliage, using pen, pencil and charcoal and adding colour with soft pastel and watercolour. She invites you on a creative and colourful trip through different techniques, bringing out detail, and exploring nuance, tone and structure. Working from real flowers and foliage as well as photos, by the end of the day you’ll have plenty of plant portraits in your sketchbook.
This workshop is suitable for beginners to more experienced students.
About Marianne – After an early career in London as a painter, Marianne moved to Herefordshire to continue life as a practical artist and tutor. With three art degrees to her name, she is a passionate believer in the traditional skills of drawing and painting, while also keen to encourage students to ‘do their own thing’. Currently she is very happy spending time in her studio exploring drawing and associated techniques, ranging from ink and watercolour to pastel and charcoal.
