At the heart of the quartet are acclaimed American jazz guitarist Jay Azzolina and renowned Welsh acoustic guitarist Dylan Fowler. Bringing together their distinctive musical voices, they create an exciting dialogue between jazz, folk, contemporary music, and global traditions. Joining them are outstanding South Wales jazz musicians Aidan Thorne (double bass) and Mark O’Connor (percussion). Together, the quartet form a highly responsive ensemble in which rhythm, melody, harmony and texture evolve constantly.
The quartet’s music draws on a lifetime of diverse influences, from the sophisticated and spontaneous language of jazz through narrative traditions of folk to rhythms and sounds garnered from around the globe.
