In conversation with Dr Peter Wakelin.
Andrew Green, author of Wales in 100 Objects, will talk about his career as a writer since retiring as National Librarian of Wales in 2013. The conversation will range across Andrew’s reflections on acting as one of the custodians of national memory, his passion for walking and its history, and writing a Welsh satirical campus novel in his second language. His latest book is a study of artists across 250 years who have been bewitched by Wales’s most mysterious mountain, Cader Idris.
Peter Wakelin chairs the Board of Cadw and is President of the Contemporary Art Society for Wales. His books include Hidden Histories: Discovering the Heritage of Wales, Hill-rhythms: David Jones + Capel-y-ffin, Refuge and Renewal: Migration and British Art and several artist monographs.
