Winter Fair at the Chapel

Upstairs at the Chapel

Friday 7th - Saturday 8th November 2025, 10am-4pm

UPSTAIRS at the CHAPEL

This year we are thrilled to host our first Winter Fair. Come and meet our highly skilled artist / makers, each one a specialist in their chosen medium, whether textiles, printmaking, ceramics or jewellery.  A chance to purchase directly from the artist, from paper goods and tiny objects to larger pieces, rare finds and one-offs. Lots of seasonal gifts!

The makers…

CARPENTER & CLOTH – Based in mid-wales, using traditional techniques and local materials, find Welsh wool gilets, scarves and mittens, cosy jackets and simple shirts that each tell a story of our cultural and industrial heritage.

JUSTINE ALLISON – focusing on the simplicity and beauty of fine porcelain and incorporating pattern, line and texture and gold leaf, Justine makes hand-built vessels, spoons, tiny bowls and tree decorations.

ALEXIS SNELL – Printmaker Alexis is no stranger to Abergavenny and regular customers will be familiar with her captivating lino-cut designs seen throughout the Angel Hotel. She will be selling limited edition prints, handmade cards and her Picture Books for children published by Puffin.

THOMASIN TOOHIE – All Thomasin’s earthenware pieces are one offs. She uses surfaces like paintings, with an interest in popular culture depicting the everyday. Her jewellery pieces are created as bite size versions of the bigger pieces.

ADDICTED TO PATTERN –  Justyna Medon is a surface designer who will be selling her brightly coloured, botanical inspired limited edition prints, cards, wrapping papers, hand made notebooks, lampshades, screen printed tea towels and linen napkins.

TIM LAKE – Tim makes handmade and kick-wheel thrown stoneware pots. ‘Pots to be used, looked at and most of all to be enjoyed.’ In a variety of forms, ranging from vases and lidded containers to drinking cups and pouring bowls.

&… THE ART SHOP & CHAPEL – A stand of our own selling provisions from Joyti’s larder – homemade jams, chutneys, ketchups and delicious Membrillo and from The Art Shop – cards, wrapping, strings and journals, and showcasing a new collection of jewellery by Rachel Larkins.

This is a FREE event.
