From exquisite etchings to a linoblock that can be cut on the kitchen table…

Painters paint directly onto a surface eg. canvas or board, whereas a printmaker ‘transfers’ an image from one surface to another. Either via relief printing (lino cut, wood block, wood engraving) or by intaglio technique (incising or engraving into a plate).  The print is the work of art. There may be more than one print, as many as the artist wants. These are the limited editions.
